The Lehigh Valley Corporate Center (LVCC), located on the eastern side of Schoenersville Road approximately ½ mile north of Route 22, has been a model business park in Northampton County, with public amenities including a duck pond and picnic areas. Due to the popularity of the park, Liberty Property Trust has developed plans for an expansion to include 308,000 additional square feet of office space, an upscale hotel, a restaurant, and a convenience market. TPD's traffic impact study for the LVCC expansion considered site development, the PennDOT project to widen Schoenersville Road from 2 to 5 lanes, and the Route 22 Renew Project.

TPD's traffic impact study for the LVCC expansion resulted in the following recommendations:

  • Implementation of a parallel "reverse-frontage" road (High Point Boulevard), which will funnel traffic to the existing signalized intersections on Schoenersville Road.
  • Two new driveways on Schoenersville Road serving retail pad sites.
  • Additional widening on Schoenersville Road to provide deceleration lanes for the driveways and a right turn lane approaching State Park Road.

In conjunction with the LVCC expansion, TPD completed the following tasks:

  • A comprehensive traffic impact study
  • The Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) application, including several roadway improvements and close coordination with PennDOT, due to the planned Airport Road reconstruction and the Route 22 Renew.
  • Additional HOP's for drainage tie-in to the PennDOT system and also for a sanitary sewer pipe crossing.
  • A comprehensive re-coordination of six signalized intersections along Schoenersville Road.

Due to the expertise demonstrated by TPD to complete the above tasks, Liberty Property Trust has retained TPD in a project management to coordinate utility work with the LVCC.
