for Growth Rate

Traffic Planning and
Design, Inc. (TPD) has been recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal
as one of the 100 fastest growing privately held firms in the Philadelphia
region for the third consecutive year. TPD was also named as one of the
top 25 engineering firms in the Philadelphia region, one of only two companies
to make both lists.
The Philadelphia 100
is a yearly ranking of the fastest growing privately held firms in the
Philadelphia region. Companies on the list are ranked by the percentage
increase in sales over the past three years. For the third consecutive
year, TPD was cited for its impressive growth rate. Of the 1,900 companies
nominated to the Philadelphia 100, TPD is one of only a handful of companies
to have been listed three consecutive times.
Over the past three
years among this elite group, TPD has increased its staff from 32 to 90
employees, and has added a structures (bridge) design unit to its list
of transportation engineering and environmental services. In addition
to Pottstown and Maryland offices, TPD has opened offices in Harrisburg
and the Lehigh Valley.
The increase in staff
and locations has enabled TPD to complete large scale projects such as
the 2.5 million square foot Atwater Business Park in East Whiteland and
Tredyffrin Townships, Chester County, which will be one of the 10 largest
business parks in the Philadelphia Region upon completion. TPD was also
selected by the City of Scranton to design a 49-signal closed loop traffic
signal system. AstraZeneca, Wilmington, DE, also enlisted TPD to perform
a traffic impact study as well as conceptual design plans for its 2 million
square foot world headquarters expansion that included the study of over
40 intersections.
